The book chronicles the Lakers dynasty, beginning with drafting Magic Johnson with the No. 1 overall pick in the 1979 NBA Draft. That kick-started a dominant run alongside Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and larger-than-life head coach Pat Riley, which saw them win five championships in the ’80s.
Which actors are in ‘Winning Time’?
The star-studded cast is headlined by John C. Reilly as Lakers owner Dr. Jerry Buss, alongside Adrien Brody as head coach Pat Riley and Jason Segel as Paul Westhead. Legendary point guard Magic Johnson is played by newcomer Quincy Isaiah.
