The online event is scheduled to go live on June 25 at 6 PM CEST and it will be shown through the streaming platform Twitch. The 25 minute “Night City Wire” presentation is set to showcase a new trailer, gameplay, and the braindance feature. If the event is as action-based as previous presentations, it is likely to be a hit with fans, yet there is the danger of the game struggling to match what fans want. Cyberpunk 2077 has had numerous delays and despite most fans being understanding, there has been some frustration. Many are hoping that the transparent statements made by CD Projekt Red about the progress of the game are correct but this has led to the game carrying the heavy weight of expectation.

It seems that a series of delays alongside snippets of information have added to the anticipation for Cyberpunk 2077 and while it is unlikely that this has been a deliberate marketing move it has been largely effective. As long as the game can deliver on its early promise as well as the excitement generated from CD Projekt Red’s other games it will be a gaming sensation. However, this is a big ask for any developer.

Many players are expecting this title to be one of the most significant in a generation, and understandably this takes time to create and deliver. Yet players may get a little closer to understanding whether Cyberpunk 2077 meets the quality that fans want on June 25.

Cyberpunk 2077 releases on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One on November 19, as well as PS5 and Xbox Series X this holiday.
