Newsweek has everything you need to know about the AMAs 2021 including start time, channel, and all of the live stream information you need.

How to Watch the AMAs 2021

The AMAs take place tonight (Sunday, November 21) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Thankfully, the entire ceremony will be available to watch via the ABC Network, including its streaming platform ABC.com.

If you do not have access to network television, ABC Live is also available to stream if you are a customer of Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, and FuboTV. Monthly subscriptions to these platforms begin at $64.99.

The awards show will begin at 8 p.m. ET.

If you happen to miss the entire ceremony, do not worry. The AMAs will remain available to stream via Hulu on Monday, November 22, and ABC.com.

Rapper Cardi B, who already has five AMAs to her name, will host the show this year.

In a statement announcing her role, Cardi B said: “When I received the invite to host the AMAs, I was so excited. I’m ready to bring my personality to the AMAs stage! Thank you to Jesse Collins, ABC, and MRC for making this happen.”

Cardi is also up for three awards, including Favorite Music Video, Favorite Female Artist - Hip-Hop and Favorite Song - Hip-Hop categories.

Who Are the AMAs 2021 Nominees?

Breakout star Olivia Rodrigo leads the field, with a total of seven nominations.

Rodrigo’s hit “Drivers Licence” broke several records, including most single-day streams on Spotify for a non-holiday song, and became the longest-running number-one debut single in Billboard Hot 100 history.

She is closely followed by Canadian singer The Weeknd who has six nominations, including Artist Of The Year, Favorite Male Pop Artist, Favorite Male R&B Artist, Favorite Music Video for “Save Your Tears”, Favorite Pop Song for the Ariana Grande remix of “Save Your Tears” and Favorite Latin Song for his Maluma collaboration “Hawái (Remix).”

Bad Bunny, Doja Cat, and Giveon follow behind with five nominations each. This year will also see the introduction of three new categories including Favorite Trending Song, Favorite Latin Duo or Group, and Favorite Gospel Artist.

Unlike many other award shows where the winners are decided by a panel, the winners of the AMAs are decided by the public vote alone.

Since October 2021, fans had been voting for their favorite acts via TikTok, with voting officially closing on November 16.
