If you want to find out the top-line nominees right as they’re revealed, you can tune into the Today show on Wednesday—nominees for 12 categories will be revealed on the NBC program. And to hear about who’s up for the other awards, check in on E! Online or its various social platforms (Twitter, Facebook, the E! News YouTube Channel or the E! Red Carpet and Award Shows YouTube Channel). You also could head to the official Golden Globes website to see who will be competing for a trophy at this year’s showcase.

Now, stop us if you’ve heard this one before, but this year’s Golden Globes ceremony is bound to feel and look different than years’ past. First, there’s just the simple fact that the Globes are happening on February 28. Typically, nominees are announced in December, and the ceremony takes place in early January. But, because of the pandemic, the awards show was pushed back, along with the Grammys and the Academy Awards.

The eligibility deadline for the 78th Golden Globe eligibility was also altered this year, as an allowance for movies and TV shows that were themselves delayed. According to Deadline, eligibility for the Golden Globes was shifted to align with the Academy Awards’ new timeline. (This year’s Oscars were originally set for February 28, but have been pushed to April 25.)

However, even with the tweaked timeline, there are still some fun and familiar elements that folks can look forward to. Comedic duo Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are returning to host the boozy ceremony for the fourth time; they previously served as emcees in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

This year, Spike Lee’s children, Satchel and Jackson Lee, will be the ceremony’s Golden Globe Ambassadors. It’s tradition for the ambassadors to be children of Golden Globe winners and industry members; they help out by handing out awards and escorting winners off the stage.

Seven-time Golden Globe award winner Jane Fonda will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award, a lifetime-achievement honor. Additionally, TV great Norman Lear will be taking home the Carol Burnett Award. The HFPA gives this award to “an honoree who has made outstanding contributions to the television medium on or off the screen.”

It’s not quite clear how the actual Golden Globes event will take place. Typically, the Globes are held at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, but the city has been hit particularly hard by the pandemic. Nonetheless, the event is bound to be a nice escape from reality.

The Golden Globes Awards Ceremony airs on Sunday, February 28 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
