Space Jam: A New Legacy is out in movie theaters on July 16, meaning it is available to watch now.
However, the movie is also available to view online for those who are not ready to venture out to the cinema.
Space Jam: A New Legacy was made by Warner Bros, which has an exclusivity deal to simultaneously release its features on HBO Max, as well as in cinemas.
As a result, Space Jam will be streaming on HBO Max from July 16.
It will be available for 31 days on the service, which is until August 15.
The movie will be shown ad-free for those who subscribe to the ad-free plan, which costs $14.99 a month.
All movies are available on HBO Max at 12 a.m. PT or 3 a.m. ET.
The Plot of Space Jam: A New Legacy
The movie follows another adventure for the Looney Tunes in the world of basketball, this time as they try to save LeBron James and his son from being trapped in the computer.
The official synopsis reads: “This transformational journey is a manic mashup of two worlds that reveals just how far some parents will go to connect with their kids.
“When LeBron and his young son Dom are trapped in a digital space by a rogue A.I., LeBron must get them home safe by leading Bugs, Lola Bunny and the whole gang of notoriously undisciplined Looney Tunes to victory over the A.I.’s digitized champions on the court: a powered-up roster of professional basketball stars as you’ve never seen them before.
“It’s Tunes versus Goons in the highest-stakes challenge of his life, that will redefine LeBron’s bond with his son and shine a light on the power of being yourself.
“The ready-for-action Tunes destroy convention, supercharge their unique talents and surprise even “King” James by playing the game their own way.”
The movie stars James and Cedric Joe as his son Dom, while Don Cheadle plays Al-G-Rhythm, the evil algorithm.
Differently to last time, there is a mix of cartoon, CGI and live-action scenes in the movie, with James turning into a cartoon at one point, and the Looney Tunes turning into CG versions of their cartoon characters.
The movie also brings out the idea of the Warner Bros serververse, where franchises from Harry Potter and Game of Thrones to Stephen King come together in a new way.
