The races for the starting spots have been close, with only two positions both in the American League and National League featuring a leader with at least 60 percent of the vote as of the final update. In both cases, it is at catcher, where Alejandro Kirk and Willson Contreras sit at 74 percent and 63 percent, respectively, and at first base, with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. at 66 percent and Paul Goldschmidt at 67 percent, respectively.

Unlike in years past, there have already been several starters named to either team. Yankees’ slugging outfielder Aaron Judge had the most votes at the end of the first phase of voting, while Braves’ power-speed threat Ronald Acuña Jr. led the voting in the National League.

Former MVPs Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani, Jose Altuve, Bryce Harper and Mookie Betts still await to find out if they will be named to the starting lineups.
