James has 33,626 points entering the game, which is just behind Kobe Bryant’s 33,643. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is the all-time points leader, and Karl Malone is second. Here are the top 10 all-time leading scorers (*going into Saturday night’s game).

James is the only active player in the top 10. The next active player is Carmelo Anthony, who is in 18th all-time with 26,053.

James is playing his 17th season in the NBA after getting picked No. 1 overall in 2003. He played seven seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers before moving to Miami, where he won two NBA titles in four seasons with the Heat. He moved back to Cleveland for a four-year stint, where he guided the Cavaliers to the NBA Finals four-straight years, winning the championship in 2016.

He is now in his second season with the Lakers, where Bryant spent his entire career.

When James passes Bryant to take the third spot on the Hall-of-Fame list, the next major milestone would be the 35,000-point plateau, in which he would be only the third all-time behind Abdul Jabbar and Karl Malone, who both ended their careers with the Lakers. (Note: Malone spent just one year with the Lakers while Abdul-Jabaar played 14 seasons with the Lakers).

Just this week, James was named a captain in the upcoming NBA All-Star Game. He was one of 10 starters named—five from each conference. As the leading vote winner in the Western Conference, he will be a captain who will select his starting five among the other eight starters, and he will get to select the remainder of his team from the reserves, who will be later named.

Here is how to watch LeBron James chase history Saturday night.
