Milano and Combs will play sisters once again on “Reunited,” the third episode of Season 16. According to the show’s synopsis, they are slated to arrive at the fictional Seattle-based hospital after their sister falls while at a construction site and suffers severe injuries. When their sister is pronounced brain dead, Milano and Combs’s characters must decide whether to keep her on life support or pull the plug.

Outside of the ER, problems will continue to arise for Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd), following his body-shocking run-in with the hospital’s new chief, Tom Koracick (Greg Germann). On the last episode of Grey’s Anatomy, Owen failed to turn off the joules of a pair of defibrillator paddles that Tom walked right into, causing the head surgeon to shock his private parts and threaten to hit Owen with a restraining order.

Meanwhile, Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) will continue to tiptoe around medical protocol from outside of the hospital. She’s already been referring her fellow community service workers to Pac North hospital, where Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) is now chief of staff—Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.) was flooded with patients claiming to be “friends with Meredith Grey” on episode 2. Meredith will up the ante on her medical treatment from the sidelines service on the upcoming episode and will use her expertise to help guide Jo (Camilla Luddington) through a difficult surgery.

Milano and Combs are two of many former co-stars reuniting on ABC shows this week for the network’s #CastfromthePast TV event. Actors from various shows and movies had onscreen reunions on ABC series throughout the week. Dan Ackroyd dropped in on his Blues Brothers partner John Goodman on The Conners on Tuesday, while Tracee Ellis Ross brought her Girlfriends’ castmates Jill Marie Jones, Persia White and Golden Brooks to black-ish.

“Reunited” airs on ABC on Thursday, October 10, at 8 p.m. ET. Viewers can live stream the show on ABC’s website or app via a smart device, however, a cable provider login will be needed to access the stream. Hulu customers with Live TV subscriptions will also be able to watch Grey’s Anatomy through the streaming service. Those with standard Hulu subscriptions can stream the show on-demand after it airs.
