Trump’s rally will take place at 7 p.m. CDT at Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds. The former president is expected to deliver remarks and show support for Patrick, who is running in the lieutenant gubernatorial race for a third-term against Democratic candidate Mike Collier, and Paxton who is running for state attorney general against Democratic candidate Rochelle Garza.

The rally comes during a time where Trump has been recently subpoenaed by the House select committee to testify under oath about last year’s Capitol riot when a group of his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol building to stop Congress from certifying Joe Biden’s electoral college victory.

The Robstown, Texas, rally is held “in support of his unprecedented effort to advance the MAGA agenda by energizing voters and highlighting the slate of 33-0 Trump Endorsed America First candidates in the Great State of Texas,” according to the “Save America” event description.

How to Watch the Robstown, Texas, Rally

Conservative news outlet Newsmax is expected to air the event with the pre-rally coverage starting at 7 p.m. ET, according to its website.

“Former President Trump wants to continue his support of candidates and causes that further the MAGA agenda and accomplishments of his presidency,” the news outlet said on its website. “Most major cable news channels including Fox News have restricted or censored live coverage of these Trump rallies. Newsmax will air these rallies live!”

Guest speakers attending the rally include Representative Michael Cloud, former Acting Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Tom Homan, and President of the National Border Patrol Council, Brandon Judd.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who is running in the state’s gubernatorial race against Democratic candidate Beto O’Rourke, will not be attending because he is taking part of a fundraising event in Florida, a decision that some political analysts found “interesting” given that the elections are a few weeks away, local news station KIIITV reported.

“It’s really interesting that Governor Abbott’s not going to be there with just a couple of weeks left before the election,” said Jason Whitely, political analyst and host of ‘Inside Texas Politics,’ according to KIIITV. “That should tell you that something is going on there. Patrick and Paxton—they really need to be there to fire up their base. Why Abbott’s not there? The campaign strategy behind that is a little less clear.”

What the Polls Show

A poll conducted by the Texas Politics Project at the University of Texas at Austin in August, revealed that Patrick had a 7 percentage point lead over Collier, with 20 percent of voters undecided. The survey had a marginal error of 2.8 points, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Meanwhile, a September poll from the University of Houston’s Hobby School of Public Affairs showed Paxton leading by 3 percentage points, with 45 percent of voter support, compared to 42 percent for Garza. However, this is marked as the smallest lead a Republican has over their Democratic rival when comparing the two other statewide races for Texas governor and lieutenant governor.
